The more kills gained the more powerful the classes available. Upon killing a human foe, the alien is able to evolve into a new class. The alien team advances quite differently. These credits may be used to purchase new weapons and upgrades from the "Armoury". As a human, players are rewarded with credits for each alien kill. Player advancement is different depending on which team you are on. Other structures provide automated base defence (to some degree), healing functions and much more. The designated builders must ensure there are spawn structures or other players will not be able to rejoin the game after death. These structures provide many functions, the most important being spawning. Players on both teams are able to build working structures in-game like an RTS. Players can choose from 2 unique races, aliens and humans. Tremulous can be downloaded here Gameplay Each team must attack the enemy's base and team members while defending their own base. The game features two opposing teams: humans and aliens. Being a cross-platform development project the game is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. Moving your base forward can help in some maps (uncreation for example), but it can also be a very bad idea. I've been in games where the builders didn't communicate and instead were constantly undoing eachothers work. A team can defy unsurmountable odds when all of it's members work together for the whole. The strongest team fails when it doesn't act like a team. Be aware though that there are situations when this rule certainly doesn't apply.ħ. By duplicating such buildings you are taking points away from more useful stuff. A human base very rarely needs two armories and medpads. In such a case a single turret/tube near the most vital building can make the difference between defeat and prolonged survival.Ħ. A defense near the reactor/overmind can be very effective. You should only ever delete/move those after consulting with the team (use 'y' for starting a teamchat message).ĥ. Keep an eye on them and notice how well they do, or not.Ĥ. It's best to start out by putting up a few turrets/tubes. Note that repairing and rebuilding is something you can do even when it's your first game, you are after all not modifying but only sustaining.ģ. Enemies often attack and retreat, hoping to come back and finish the job. By repairing damaged buildings and rebuilding them if destroyed you can make the base last much longer. Humans can repair buildings with the right mouse key (alien buildings repair themselves). Take notice of how aliens don't put all their eggs in one basket, but humans lean towards big central bases.Ģ. Take notice of how the game flows, of the camping, of the raids, or the sieges. Don't build until you have observed a few games, either by spectating or by participating. To help new builders here are some tips:ġ. The art of building is easily underestimated, however it is of great value for the team.
